  • The season’s top 60 players will compete without a cut for 600 points, a US$225,000 purse and ten Korn Ferry Tour memberships for 2027, in the first PGA TOUR Americas season finale held in the Dominican Republic.

Dominican Republic Tour Championship 2026

Santo Domingo, October 13, 2026.— PGA Ocean’s 4, located within the Playa Nueva Romana residential community, introduced the Dominican Republic Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank at a press conference. The 2026 PGA TOUR Americas season finale will take place from October 15 to 18, marking the first time it has been held in the Dominican Republic. The country’s only golf course affiliated with the PGA of America will welcome the tour’s top 60 players, who will compete over four rounds without a cut for ten Korn Ferry Tour memberships for 2027.

Korn Ferry Tour Memberships for 2027

The champion will earn 600 points, 100 more than at a regular tournament, and those finishing among the top ten on the Points List, known as The 10, will also receive an exemption into the Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry. Cam Crawford, Chief Referee for the PGA TOUR, explained: “What sets this finale apart is that everyone still has a chance. Even the player who arrives in 60th place can win and finish among The 10. Every round will have direct implications for the race to the Korn Ferry Tour, all at PGA Ocean’s 4, a course in excellent condition with outstanding infrastructure to host the event in Playa Nueva Romana.”

Piñero’s Real Estate & Golf Division and PGA TOUR Partnership

During the press conference, Gonzalo Pan de Soraluce, Global Golf Director of Piñero’s Real Estate & Golf division, said the season finale reflects a long-term vision for golf in the region. “Bringing the PGA TOUR Americas season finale to the Dominican Republic allows us to showcase PGA Ocean’s 4 to the world and sustain sports tourism that attracts investment and develops talent. Our partnership with the PGA TOUR connects this course with PGA Riviera Maya, in Tulum Country Club, along a shared competitive pathway. Two countries, two courses and one strategy, with the top performers in this finale able to compete next season in the Tulum Championship.”

Latin American Players at PGA Ocean’s 4

Among the players in attendance was Mexico’s Omar Morales, 23, a Puebla native who played collegiate golf at UCLA. He is part of a Latin American contingent that also includes fellow Mexican José de Jesús Rodríguez and Costa Rica’s Paul Chaplet and Luis Gagne. Morales said: “The course is in very good condition, especially the four oceanfront holes. I’m sure it will be an incredible experience.”

Also in attendance was Argentina’s Mateo Fernández de Oliveira, who enters the event in 16th place on the Points List after winning the Commissionaires Ottawa Open in July and remains in contention for a place among The 10. Fernández said: “This is my third time playing in the Dominican Republic, and I’m very happy to be here. Ocean’s 4 is a course that will really test us as players; it offers different conditions from those we have played throughout the year, because being next to the sea makes the wind a factor. I hope we can take home some wonderful memories from this experience.”

Scotiabank Supports the Dominican Republic Tour Championship

Claudia Cueli, Vice President of Commercial and Corporate Banking at Scotiabank Dominican Republic, said: “Supporting this competition reflects our confidence in the Dominican Republic’s potential and in initiatives that create new opportunities for the country. As presenting sponsor, we are proud to contribute to an event that showcases talent and strengthens the destination’s connection with international audiences.”

Sports Tourism in the Dominican Republic

For his part, Jean Carlos Navarro, Head of Sports Tourism at the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism, thanked Piñero and PGA Ocean’s 4 for their commitment to sports tourism in the country and for helping the Dominican Republic become the Caribbean’s sports tourism hub. He encouraged continued collaboration to make sport an experience that promotes the destination and inspires travelers to keep choosing it.

PGA Ocean’s 4 Golf Course

PGA Ocean’s 4 enters the season finale in optimal condition following renovations to its bunkers and tee boxes as part of Robert Trent Jones II’s redesign project. Recognized as the Dominican Republic’s Best Golf Course by the World Golf Awards and as the Best Golf Course in the Americas by IAGTO, it features 27 holes, the country’s first PGA Golf Academy and a layout combining Parkland, Desert, Links and Oceanside settings, with four iconic holes overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Rounds will be played from Thursday, October 15, through Sunday, October 18.
