The 10 Players Advancing to the Korn Ferry Tour in 2027

The finale at PGA Ocean’s 4 in Playa Nueva Romana also awarded the final points of the PGA TOUR Americas season, confirming Thomas Ponder as the season’s top player and determining the 10 golfers who will compete on the Korn Ferry Tour next year: Thomas Ponder, Corey Pereira, Étienne Papineau, Joey Savoie, Patrick Flavin, Charlie Crockett, Justin Biwer, Jack Lundin, Charlie Nikitas, and Patrick Sheehan.

During the awards ceremony, Jaime Sitjar, CEO of Piñero’s Real Estate & Golf division, stated: “We conclude a historic week for Playa Nueva Romana and Piñero’s Real Estate & Golf division. Hosting the PGA TOUR Americas season finale at PGA Ocean’s 4 and celebrating this defining moment in these players’ careers inspires us to continue establishing our destinations among the elite of international golf. I congratulate Joey Savoie on his extraordinary final-round comeback, with five birdies down the stretch, as well as the ten players advancing to the Korn Ferry Tour. We are proud that our course is part of this moment in their careers, and we look forward to welcoming them to PGA Riviera Maya next year.”

A Dramatic Final Round at PGA Ocean’s 4

Throughout the four days, PGA Ocean’s 4—undergoing the first phase of a renovation by renowned designer Robert Trent Jones II and featuring four holes along the Caribbean Sea—demanded exceptional precision from the players. After 54 holes, Omar Morales, Charlie Crockett, and Mesa Falleur shared the lead at 11 under par. In the final round, however, Joey Savoie, who began two strokes behind, posted a 67 to win by one shot.

Jon Krakower, Vice President of PGA TOUR Pathways, thanked Encarna Piñero, Jaime Sitjar, and the entire Playa Nueva Romana and PGA Ocean’s 4 team for their work in elevating the week’s experience for everyone. He emphasized that both the competition and the course exceeded expectations for a first-class season finale.

Strengthening Golf Tourism in the Dominican Republic

Tammy Reynoso, the Dominican Republic’s Vice Minister of Tourism, commented: “At the Ministry of Tourism, we have been working for years on a strategy to strengthen sports tourism, with golf as one of its key pillars. It is an honor for us to welcome this international PGA tournament to our destination. We want the experience to extend beyond the golf course, allowing visitors to discover our culture, cuisine, and the diversity of our destinations.”

Champion Joey Savoie highlighted the extraordinary hospitality he received throughout the week and the excellent work of the organizers. The Canadian also praised the course’s outstanding condition and attention to detail, describing its four oceanfront holes as incredible. Savoie thanked Piñero, the Ministry of Tourism, and Scotiabank, and expressed particular gratitude to the Dominican Republic, which he described as perhaps a small island, but one with a big heart. He added that he was very excited to return soon.
