The Mexican Golf Federation (FMG) has taken a significant step toward making golf more accessible in Mexico by officially launching the National Golf School. This groundbreaking initiative aims to promote the sport among children, young adults, and adults, fostering inclusivity and talent development across the country.

National Golf School: A New Era for Golf in Mexico

The official inauguration took place on March 9, 2025, at the newly opened Kudos facility in Mexico City, located in San Bartolo Ameyalco, Álvaro Obregón, marking the first public venue of the National Golf School. This innovative project, backed by the FMG, seeks to offer professional training and guidance to aspiring golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Fernando Lemmen Meyer, President of the Mexican Golf Federation, led the inauguration ceremony, emphasizing the Federation’s commitment to nurturing new talent and expanding access to the sport. “With the opening of Kudos and the launch of the National Golf School, we are making history in the development of golf in Mexico. Our goal is clear: golf for everyone,” Lemmen Meyer stated.

A Progressive Learning Model

Kudos, the first host of the National Golf School, operates under a progressive level system, allowing students to advance based on their technical skills and personal growth. This approach not only promotes athletic performance but also instills core values such as discipline, punctuality, and commitment.

The program also includes regular assessments where students receive pins representing their current skill level. This personalized approach ensures that each student progresses at their own pace, fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment.

Golf legend Lorena Ochoa expressed her enthusiasm for the project through a video message played during the inauguration. “It fills me with pride to see the first public golf school become a reality. This is a game-changer for the sport in Mexico, giving more children the chance to learn and grow through golf,” she said.

Backed by 27-time LPGA winner Lorena Ochoa and Kudos Academy founder Marta Ostos, this initial program will operate only on Sundays from 12:00 to 14:00 hours. In addition, the private organization offers its own golf teaching programs for private lessons, with prices ranging from 500 pesos per class to packages of six thousand pesos for a group of 12 sessions.

Nationwide Expansion by 2025

The launch of Kudos is just the beginning. The FMG has already confirmed two new locations in Las Maravillas, Morelos, and Tepic, Nayarit, with a strategic goal of establishing 15 National Golf School venues by the end of 2025.

The Federation is working closely with local governments, clubs, and private organizations to ensure the success of this ambitious initiative. By creating accessible and inclusive spaces, the FMG aims to build a solid foundation for future generations of golfers in Mexico.

Promoting Values Beyond the Game

One of the most remarkable aspects of the National Golf School is its commitment to holistic education. Instructors are not only focused on teaching technical skills but also on nurturing personal values such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. This dual approach is designed to create well-rounded individuals who can carry these values beyond the golf course.

Moreover, the National Golf School plans to host tournaments, workshops, and community events to further engage students and promote the sport. By making golf more accessible, the FMG hopes to inspire a new wave of talent that could one day represent Mexico on international stages.

National Golf School: Golf for Everyone, Everywhere

The FMG is inviting children, young adults, and adults from all backgrounds to join the National Golf School. With affordable access, expert coaching, and state-of-the-art facilities, the program is set to transform the golf landscape in Mexico.
